In order to expand in India, the Adani Ports and Special Economic Zones (APSEZ) Ltd. announced to acquire 31.5% stake in Gangavaram Port Limited (GPL) from Windy Lakeside Investment Limited an affiliate of Warburg Pincus for approximately USD 236 million.

  • Gangavaram Port is the second largest non-major port in Andhra Pradesh with a 64 MMT capacity established under concession from Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) that extends till 2059.
  • It is all-weather, deep water, multi-purpose port capable of handling fully laden super cape size vessels of upto 200,000 DWT.
    • GPL is the gateway port for a hinterland spread over 8 states across eastern, western, southern and central India.

Feb 2021: The accelerate IT infrastructure in India, Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX, announced the creation of AdaniConneX a new joint 50:50 venture. The new JV will develop and operate data centers across India.

Feb 2021: To expand ports footprint in India, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ) completed the acquisition of Dighi Port Limited (DPL) for approximately USD 96 million. DPL is 12th port to join APSEZ’s string of economic gateways across the eastern and western coast of India.

Jan 2021: To expand presence in green energy fields in India Total agreed to acquire 20% minority stake in Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) from Adani Group for approximately $2.5 billion. As per deal Total will acquire 50% stake in a 2.35 GWac portfolio of operating solar assets owned by AGEL .

Nov 2020: The India’s leading power transmission company Adani Transmission Ltd (ATL), has acquired 49% stake in Alipurduar Transmission Limited from Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd. (KPTL) in India. Alipurduar Transmission operates transmission lines aggregating to around 650 ckt kms in West Bengal and Bihar state in India.

Sep 2020: India’s leading airport operator Adani Airports Limited announced to acquire majority interest in Mumbai Airports, India. Adani Airports Limited is a part of India’s energy giant Adani Group. The acquisition of Mumbai airports helps Adani Group to redesign the customer service and bridge company’s B2C and B2B business models.

Aug 2020: Indian renewable energy company Adani Green Energy a subsidiary of Adani Group, has strengthen its partnership with Siemens Gamesa for one of the largest wind power projects in India. As per agreement Siemens Gamesa will deliver 215 SG 2.2-122 wind turbines, totalling 473 MW wind power project.

July 2020: Adani Group’s transmission and distribution business arm Adani Transmission Ltd (ATL) has signed a definitive agreement with Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd. (KPTL) for acquiring Alipurduar Transmission Ltd.

June 2020: India’s leading energy company Adani Group has announced that its subsidiary Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has won the first of its kind manufacturing linked solar agreement from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). AGEL will develop 8 GW of solar projects along with a commitment that will see Adani Solar establish 2 GW of additional solar cell and module manufacturing capacity.

April 2020: France based leading energy player TOTAL S.A announced that its step-down subsidiary has invested approximately $486 million for 50% partnership with Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) in a Joint Venture (JV) in India. The JV houses 2.148 GW operating solar projects across 11 states in India.
