The Indias leading power transmission company Adani Transmission Ltd (ATL), has acquired 49% stake in Alipurduar Transmission Limited from Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd. (KPTL) in India. Alipurduar Transmission operates transmission lines aggregating to around 650 ckt kms in West Bengal and Bihar state in India.
- The acquisition is in sync with ATL’s strategy to enhance the value for its stakeholders, through organic as well as inorganic opportunities.
- With this acquisition, the cumulative network of ATL will reach more than 15,400 ckt kms, out of which more than 12,200 ckt kms (including this asset) is operational and more than 3,200 ckt kms is under various stages of execution.

July 2020: Adani Groups transmission and distribution business arm Adani Transmission Ltd (ATL) has signed a definitive agreement with Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd. (KPTL) for acquiring Alipurduar Transmission Ltd.
June 2020: Indias leading energy company Adani Group has announced that its subsidiary Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has won the first of its kind manufacturing linked solar agreement from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). AGEL will develop 8 GW of solar projects along with a commitment that will see Adani Solar establish 2 GW of additional solar cell and module manufacturing capacity.
April 2020: France based leading energy player TOTAL S.A announced that its step-down subsidiary has invested approximately $486 million for 50% partnership with Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) in a Joint Venture (JV) in India. The JV houses 2.148 GW operating solar projects across 11 states in India.
December 2019, Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) signed agreements to acquire 25% stakes in Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited (AEML) for approximately $450 million. AEML is a part of the leading power generating company Adani Group. Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited owns and operates one of the largest and efficient power distribution networks in India.
