The leading investing agency Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) announced to invest approximately $828 million into Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries.

  • ADIA’s investment will translate into a 1.20% equity stake in RRVL on a fully diluted basis.
  • RRVL earlier raised fund from leading global investors including Silver Lake, KKR, General Atlantic, Mubadala, GIC, TPG and ADIA in less than four weeks.

    The major deals and investments by Reliance Retail are featured below:

    Oct 2020: Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (“RRVL”) the largest retailer in India announced that TPG will invest approximately $245 million into RRVL, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries. TPG’s investment will translate into a 0.41% equity stake in RRVL on a fully diluted basis

    October 2020: GIC announced that it will invest $752 million into RRVL. GIC’s investment will translate into a 1.22% equity stake in RRVL on a fully diluted basis.

    October 2020: Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala), the Abu Dhabi-based sovereign investor, announced an investment of $846 million into Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), a subsidiary of India’s Reliance Industries Limited (Reliance Industries). Mubadala’s investment will translate into a 1.40% equity stake in RRVL on a fully diluted basis.

    Sep 2020: Global investment firm KKR announced that it will invest approximately $834 million into Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), a subsidiary of Indian energy giant Reliance Industries. KKR’s investment will translate into a 1.28% equity stake in RRVL on a fully diluted basis.

    Sep 2020: The world’s largest technology investor Silver Lake announced that it will invest approximately $1.127 billion into Reliance Retail, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries in India. Silver Lake’s investment will translate into a 1.75% equity stake in Reliance Retail on a fully diluted basis.

    Aug 2020: The leading investment company British Columbia Investment Management Corporation, along with Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P, announced acquisition of a 100 per cent stake in a telecom tower company in India from a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited for approximately US$3.4 billion.

    Aug 2020: Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL) announced to acquire the Retail & Wholesale Business and the Logistics & Warehousing Business from the Future Group for approximately $3.6 billion.

    Aug 2020: Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL) a subsidiary of India’s leading organisation Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has acquired a majority equity stake in Vitalic Health Pvt. Ltd. and its subsidiaries (Collectively known as ‘Netmeds’) for approximately $93 million.

    April 2020: Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) had announced that it will enhance its support to the service of the nation 24×7 in a collective fight against Covid-19. The company has already initiated a multi-pronged prevention, mitigation, and ongoing support strategy that is comprehensive, sustainable, and resilient.
