For the development of hydrogen fuel cell trucks, Air Products has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Cummins. As per MoU both will work together to accelerate the integration of hydrogen fuel cell trucks in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

  • Cummins will provide hydrogen fuel cell electric powertrains integrated into selected OEM partners’ heavy-duty trucks for Air Products, as Air Products begins the process of converting its global fleet of distribution vehicles to hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
  • Air Products plans to convert its global fleet of approximately 2,000 trucks to hydrogen fuel cell zero-emission vehicles.
  • Cummins and Air Products will work together to increase the accessibility of renewable hydrogen, including hydrogen infrastructure opportunities that promote the adoption of hydrogen for mobility.

The major expansions and deals by Cummins are featured below:

July 2021: Chevron U.S.A. Inc., through its Chevron Products Company division (Chevron), and Cummins Inc., a global power and hydrogen technologies leader, announced a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore a strategic alliance to develop commercially viable business opportunities in hydrogen and other alternative energy sources.

June 2021: Cummins Inc. and Rush Enterprises, Inc. announced that they have signed a Letter of Intent for Cummins to acquire a 50% equity interest in Momentum Fuel Technologies from Rush Enterprises.

June 2021: Cummins Inc. opened a new UK Logistics Centre (UKLC), its first cross-business operations hub, to better serve its customers through centralising processes and increased efficiency. The 435,000 sq. ft. centre in Apex Park, Daventry, UK, consolidates the storage capacity previously shared across both Cummins and third-party warehouses to support its UK manufacturing sites and its aftermarket products, under one roof.

May 2020: Indiana based Cummins Inc in partnership with DuPont helping the nation’s shortage of N95 respirator masks. Cummins’ NanoNet and NanoForce Media technology, which uses DuPont’s Hybrid Membrane Technology (HMT), can typically be found in air, fuel and lube filtration products used in heavy-duty diesel engines to prevent long-term engine wear, but also can be used in the N95 respirator masks worn by healthcare professionals.
