Airbus has announced that Nigeria’s Lagos-based airline Green Africa Airways, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for 50 A220-300 aircraft. This is one of the largest orders for the A220 programme globally and the largest ever from the African continent.
The A220 from Airbus, is an aircraft purpose-built for the 100-150 seat market. The A220 has unbeatable fuel efficiency and widebody passenger comfort in a single-aisle aircraft. It also brings together state-of-the-art aerodynamics, advanced materials and Pratt & Whitney’s latest-generation PW1500G geared turbofan engines.

February 2020: Airbus has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) to enable urban air mobility (UAM) in Singapore. The collaboration aims to bring UAM services and platforms to reality and helps in improving the country’s regional connectivity.
December 2019: Airbus announced the acquisition of industrial automation company, MTM Robotics. The Seattle based MTM Robotics will help in expanding advanced robotics capabilities of Airbus within its manufacturing processes.
September 2019: Airbus announced a cooperation agreement with Alibaba Cloud, the data intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, to cooperate on developing a Skywise Data Centre in China.
