The global beer and spirits company Asahi Beverages formally announced to enter into a joint venture with Pact Group Holdings Ltd and Cleanaway Waste Management Ltd to build a $45 million world-class PET recycling plant in Albury/Wodonga, Australia.
- The project is expected to create over 300 direct and indirect jobs, with tradespeople, engineers and technicians among the roles that need to be filled. Announcements will follow regarding the hiring of these roles.
- It is anticipated the facility will recycle the equivalent of around 1 billion 600ml PET plastic bottles each year.In June 2020: Asahi Beverages announced that it has completed the acquisition of Carlton & United Breweries from Anheuser-Busch InBev [ABI] and welcomes CUBs employees to the Asahi Beverages family. Asahi Lifestyle Beverages is the exclusive beverages bottler of PepsiCos master beverage brands in Australia which include Pepsi, Pepsi Max, Gatorade, Mountain Dew and 7UP.
