In order to bridge the digital divide, AT&T announced that it will invest $2 billion over the next 3 years. AT&T is investing and expanding to bring robust broadband connectivity to more Americans. The company will offer low- cost affordable broadband network to customers.

  • The company will be expanding affordable broadband through AT&T’s low-cost offers and the Emergency Broadband Benefit program administered by the FCC
  • The EBB can be applied to eligible home internet services like Access from AT&T or AT&T Internet, available within our 21-state wireline footprint.
  • EBB can be applied toward eligible postpaid or prepaid wireless plans at AT&T, AT&T PREPAID and Cricket Wireless, which are available in all 50 states.

Dec 2020: The global entertainment company Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc announced that its subsidiary Funimation Global Group to acquire Crunchyroll from AT&T Inc for approximately $1.17 billion. The combination of Crunchyroll and Funimation provides the opportunity to broaden distribution for their content partners and expand fan-centric offerings for consumers.

Nov 2020: World-leading commercial refrigeration company Epta+ is to deploy a state-of-the-art digital network to support its global operations and future growth plans. Delivered by AT&T, the software defined network for Epta and its operating companies will allow the Italian-based company to streamline customer service and drive further collaboration across its brands.

Nov 2020: AT&T Inc. had completed the sale of its wireless and wireline operations in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands to Liberty Latin America.
The transaction includes employees; network assets and spectrum; real estate and leases; customers, including more than 1 million wireless subscribers; and contracts.

Oct 2020: IBM and AT&T announced to work together to help enterprises manage their applications hosted in hybrid cloud environments with IBM Cloud Satellite leveraging Red Hat OpenShift, over AT&T networks. IBM and AT&T helped businesses across all industries more rapidly develop and deploy innovative new services wherever they need to run using regional or on-premises edge computing with additional privacy and security.

Oct 2020: AT&T and Cisco had extended their collaboration to manage Internet of Things (IoT) devices for enterprises. AT&T Control Center powered by Cisco gives businesses near real-time visibility of all the devices on their network and enhances their ability to gather and use device data to drive business outcomes. AT&T and Cisco manage millions of connected devices spanning manufacturing, utilities, transportation, public sector, retail and healthcare industries as well as public safety on FirstNet, built with AT&T.
