The global labeling manufacturer Avery Dennison announced a new RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) manufacturing facility in Vinhedo (SP), Brazil. The facility will be the company’s first in Brazil and fifth in the world. The new manufacturing factory will be operational in 2021.

With Brazil’s Vinhedo facility Avery Dennison is gearing up for future growth of RFID technology, improving the efficiency of processes and the relationship between brands. The company’s new facility will have the potential to meet market growth, as evidenced by recent demands for projects in various segments, such as the solutions provided to Grupo Boticário.

Recently the company has acquired Smartrac to expand its RFID business at a global level. The new facility in Brazil will manufacture a wide variety of inlay designs. The company also partners with Impinj and NXP to develop world-class RFID tags and incorporates the latest chip technology into its products.

In November 2019, Avery Dennison announced its partnership with Shakti Plastic Industries, a leading recycler in India that will enable its customers and end-users in India to re-purpose label waste. A per agreement, participating label converters and end-users able to co-process or reprocess their leftover label matrix instead of landfilling it at no cost, given that the paper and film materials are sorted at the converter end. The co-processing, a paper matrix, can be re-used as fuel in industrial processes.

In August 2019, Avery Dennison has announced the expansion of its Rapid-Roll portfolio with two new offerings: a print-ready stand-up pouch construction and the Pentalabel Eklipse light-blocking shrink film. The expansion grows the company’s business with new eye-catching packaging formats for premium foods and snacks, household products and beverages, and other segments.
