The leading paint and coating company Axalta, has announced the construction of latest phase of its Jiading plant in Shanghai, to produce the environmentally responsible waterborne coatings in China. The new phase is expected to be operational by 2021. China is a world’s largest automotive market and second-largest car parts supplier.
The expanded waterborne coatings plant in Jiading will combine the best practices adopted at Axalta’s other global plants with China’s local R&D advantages, while also implementing a unique design process. The expansion will position Axalta to meet rising demand for sustainable coatings from automotive and industrial customers across southern and eastern China and nearby regions.
