The world’s leading chocolate producer Barry Callebaut Group, has announced to acquire GKC Foods (Australia) Pty Ltd, a producer of chocolate, coatings and fillings, serving many consumer chocolate brands in Australia and New Zealand.

  • Acquisition establishes Barry Callebaut’s direct presence and manufacturing capacity in Australia to cater for the Australian and New Zealand markets
    • Investment involves upgrading the factory and installing a new chocolate production line
  • GKC Foods is a privately-owned B2B chocolate manufacturer, serving many consumer chocolate brands in Australia and New Zealand

In May 2020, Barry Callebaut along with Unilever join forces to respond to COVID-19 with the donation and distribution of 10’000 pieces of soap to cocoa farming communities in Côte d’Ivoire. Unilever presented the donation to Barry Callebaut, who managed the distribution to Unilever cocoa farmer cooperatives.

In July 2019, The Barry Callebaut Group, announced the groundbreaking for the construction of its new chocolate and compound manufacturing facility in Baramati, India – about 250 km south-east of Mumbai.
