To accelerate logistics automation, BMW i Ventures announced an investment in Plus One Robotics. The funding will boost automate supply chain and logistics. Plus One incorporates a “human-in-the-loop” approach that leverages human intelligence to handle exceptions for the variety of items passing from dock to door

  • The Series B fundraise will help accelerate automation across the broader supply chain and logistics industry and deliver a transformative experience for warehouse operators.
  • Yonder, Plus One’s robot supervision software enables one human, or Crew Chief, to manage up to 50 robots remotely, allowing companies to adopt a follow-the-sun model and meet the demands of the 24/7 consumer.

The major investments and joint ventures by BMW i Ventures are mentioned below:

July 2020: The leading technology firm GenXComm announced that BMW i Ventures invests in the company. The funding helps to increase the speed of global 5G deployment. GenXComm’s technology has the potential to ruduce the cost of implementing 5G by up to 80%.

February 2020: BMW’s venture capital fund, BMW i Ventures announced an investment in San Francisco based AutoFi, a technology company transforming the way cars are bought and sold in the markets. AutoFi is a retail platform that helps car buyers to purchase and finance a car from a variety of financial institutions within or outside the dealership.

January 2020: BMW i Ventures announced an investment in an optical AI software creator Alitheon. Alitheon is a startup, developing generative engineering software aimed at automating the product development process. The company will use the new funding to expand its FeaturePrint technology across the defense, luxury goods, aerospace, aviation services, automotive, semiconductor, additive manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals.

October 2019: BMW i Ventures announced an investment in CelLink, a San Carlos, CA-based manufacturer of flexible circuit technology. CelLink’s circuit technology delivers high-conductance, large-area, lightweight, and low-cost flexible circuits

September 2019: BMW i Ventures invested in Trifacta, the global leader in data wrangling. The new invest will accelerate the companies intelligent automation platform. Trifacta’s unique combination of human-computer interaction, machine learning & scalable data processing will guides users for exploring and preparing data.
