The leading tech company, Bosch announce the opening of one of the world’s most modern wafer fabs in Dresden, Germany. The new wafer fab is highly automated, fully connected machines and integrated processes, combined with methods of artificial intelligence (AI) which will make the Dresden plant a smart factory and a trailblazer in Industry 4.0.

  • It is planned that 700 people will work in the facility once it is completed.

    The prominent deals and expansions by Bosch are mentioned below:

    March 2021: To boost the production of chip, Bosch is investing in Dresden, Germany to build a new chip factory. In the new Bosch semiconductor factory, silicon wafers are fully automated for the first time. The production will start by the end of 2021.

    May 2020: The leading technology company Bosch in fight against the corona virus, had started the production of respiratory masks. The company puts fully automated systems for mask production into operation.

    January 2020, Bosch announced that it had increased its stake in Ceres Power from 3.9 percent to around 18 percent. To increase its stake, Bosch subscribes to new Ceres Power shares and acquires additional shares from existing shareholders. Bosch is investing a total of approximately $96 million.

    November 2019, Bosch and xarvio Digital Farming Solutions from BASF expands collaboration in the area of digital solutions for agriculture. To this end, the companies had founded a project house in which they will in future also summarize the joint research and development activities.
