The leading wireless telecommunications provider Cellnex has announced an agreement with Portuguese mobile operator NOS for the acquisition of NOS Towering business. The deal includes approximately 2,000 telecommunications sites.

As per agreements the companies have signed an initial 15-year contract, extendible by successive additional 15-year periods. Even after agreement NOS will continue to use the sites that Cellnex will operate, locating its voice and data signal transmission equipment there. The contract includes a portfolio of telecommunication towers and rooftop antennas, located in urban (40%), suburban and rural (60%) areas.

In February 2020, Cellnex signed a strategic agreement with Bouygues Telecom to invest $1.2 billion over the next 7 years. Both will deploy a national fibre optic network in France to provide mobile and fixed fiber based connectivity and especially accelerate the roll-out of 5G in the country.

In December 2019, Cellnex has announced an agreement with Orange Spain to acquire a portfolio of 1,500 telecommunications sites. Towers and antennas located in urban, suburban and rural areas. The operation involves an overall investment of $270 million for Cellnex.
