To expand the manufacturing of ethylene oxide (EO) derivatives, India Glycols Limited (IGL) and Clariant announced the successful creation of their 51-49% joint venture. The joint venture will operate under the name Clariant IGL Specialty Chemicals Private Limited in India.

April 2021: To enhance the production of high end stabilizers, Clariant, announced the opening of a new world-class production facility in Cangzhou, China. The news facility is jointly owned by Clariant and Beijing Tiangang Auxiliary Co., Ltd. (Tiangang), a privately owned producer and leading supplier of light stabilizers in China.
March 2021: For the sustainable growth, Clariant announced a strategic partnership with India Glycols Limited (IGL), to establish a 51-49% joint venture in renewable ethylene oxide (EO) derivatives. The joint venture is expected to become a leading supplier of renewable materials to the rapidly growing consumer care market in India and other Asian countries.
Feb 2021: To expand presence in African chemical market, Clariant Pigments expand its new state-of-the-art pigments laboratory in Krugersdorp near Johannesburg, South Africa. The new facility will increase local value-added color support services to the coatings industry across Africa, Turkey and the Middle East.
Sep 2020: Clariant, announced the construction of a new state-of-the-art catalyst production site in China. This investment further strengthens Clariants position in China. The new facility will be producing CATOFIN catalyst for propane dehydrogenation.
Aug 2020: Clariants Business Line Biofuels and Derivatives announced a strategic partnership with Chemtex Global Corporation for the realization of second-generation biofuel projects. Under the partnership, the two parties will collaborate to market and sell Clariants sunliquid® technology licenses, as well as services and supplies for advanced biofuel plants in China.
July 2020: Clariant, a focused, sustainable and innovative specialty chemical company, completed the sale of its entire Masterbatches business to PolyOne. The enterprise value of the sale, which consists of separate transactions for Clariants global Masterbatches business and its Masterbatches business in India, amounts to approximately USD 1,560 million which is equivalent to c. 12.2 times the last twelve months reported EBITDA.
