Rio Tinto helps to combat COVID-19 with screening at Perth Airport
The leading metals and mining company Rio Tinto has extended its effort to combat the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Western Australia with the beginning of rapid screening trials at Perth Airport. The company has introduced temperature screening, across Rio Tinto operations in the Pilbara region to help minimise transmission risk. The other measure taken by the company includes social distancing on planes, buses, camps and in light-vehicles, reduced people on site via a roster change and stronger controls on access to sites.
Boeing completed its first COVID-19 transport mission for PPE
In response to global pandemic the leading aerospace firm Boeing announced the completion of its first COVID-19 transport mission, to bring personal protective equipment (PPE) from China to the United States. The company used a 737-700 aircraft from its corporate fleet for this mission. The company transported approximately 540,000 medical-grade face masks that will be delivered to healthcare professionals battling COVID-19 in New Hampshire in partnership with FIRST® Robotics Founder Dean Kamen.
Rite Aid increases its COVID-19 testing site with Seven New Locations
The leading drugstore chain in the USA Rite Aid has announced the expansion of its COVID-19 testing sites with seven new locations in New York, New Jersey, Michigan and Ohio, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Rite Aid expects to have additional drive-up COVID-19 testing locations opening soon at its stores in Delaware, Idaho, Pennsylvania, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Virginia.
