The world’s leading engineers technology provider Danfoss, has signed an agreement to acquire Eaton’s Hydraulics business for approximately $3.3 billion. Eaton Hydraulics is a global player in the hydraulic industry and this acquisition will help Danfoss to enter the industrial hydraulics market that was served by Eaton Hydraulics. The deal is entirely in line with Danfoss’ strategy to strengthen its core businesses worldwide and will position the company as a global leader in mobile and industrial hydraulics.
The combined business of two complementary companies will benefit the customers and distributors by offering industry technology and a much wider portfolio of hydraulic solutions. Eaton Hydraulics provides products for customers related to agriculture, construction, and industrial market segments.
During October 2019 and November 2019, Danfoss entered into three collaborations. These were with Proemion, ZF Friedrichshafen AG and Microsoft. Further information is provided below:
Collaboration with Proemion – With the cooperation, Proemion will directly supply Danfoss’ end customers worldwide with its products. Proemion’s telematics control unit, the CANlink mobile, is equipped with Danfoss’ diagnostic communication protocol. As joint partners, the companies will offer their customers innovative and forward-looking telematics solutions with their combined strengths. With this partnership, Danfoss offers diagnostic solutions specifically tailored to its controllers, while Proemion’s hardware and software provide a fast and direct connection to the machines wherever they are located.
Strategic partnership with ZF Friedrichshafen AG – Danfoss Silicon Power to supply power modules for a range of projects ZF acquired from OEM’s. The two companies are also intensifying their partnership for silicon- and silicon-carbide power modules. Both companies will improve the efficiency of electric drivelines by leveraging engineering and cost benefits at the interface between power modules and inverters. The partners will engage in joint research and development, with Danfoss also supplying power modules for silicon applications.
Collaboration with Microsoft – The collaboration will benefit customers from long-standing industry knowledge on a new platform powered by Microsoft Azure. With this partnership, Danfoss enhances its application expertise and becomes a recognized independent software vendor (ISV). Danfoss will bring modern technology and domain expertise with Microsoft to Refrigeration and HVAC system owners and professionals.
