The world leading food company Danone announced investments to strengthen capabilities, support and commitment of its Specialized Nutrition business in China. The company announced to invest approximately $113 million to expand business in China.
- The series of investments will enable the company to broaden and deepen its range of nutritional products and services that are tailored to Chinese health needs, traditions and tastes.
- The expansion includes an acquisition of local infant milk formula capabilities, and the expansion of capacity to further develop offerings in FSMP (Food for Special Medical Purposes), meaning food for people whose nutritional requirements cannot be met by normal foods
- Danone plans to open a new Science Research Center for life transforming nutrition, which will be located in Shanghai, China. The new research center will carry out scientific research and development work in specialized nutrition. The new center will develop evidence-based nutritional solutions tailored to the tastes, traditions and health needs of Chinas consumers.
