The global supply chain leader Deutsche Post DHL Group, announced to invest approximately $30 million in 2020 to expand and modernize its operation in the United States. The expansion will create opportunities for approximately 900 new distribution center workers to support its growth.

  • The investment includes purchasing its first fully-owned move-in-ready distribution center in the United States and temporary distribution center space in Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; and Avenel, NJ
  • DHL eCommerce Solutions currently has 19 distribution centers and three corporate offices in the United States and Canada with approximately 3,000 employees.

The prominent recent expansions and investments by DHL are mentioned below:

July 2020: DHL Supply Chain, announced an additional investment of $70 million to strengthen its life sciences and healthcare capabilities in North America. The company will develop additional specialized warehousing infrastructure for its pharmaceutical and medical devices customers.

June 2020: The leading provider of global shipping services DHL Express, had announced the opening of a new retail shipping store in in the United States. The company owned retail store is located at the Palm Springs Mile Shopping Center at 407 W. 49th St., Hialeah, FL.

March 2020: DHL Supply Chain announced an expanded partnership with autonomous mobile robots (AMR) leader Locus Robotics. The new partnership includes 10 new, nationwide deployments of the Locus AMR solution in 2020. DHL Supply Chain is a part of Deutsche Post DHL Group.

February 2020: DHL Express had expressed its intentions to expand its operations and investments in Egypt. The Egyptian market is one of the largest, and most significant markets for DHL in the region and the expansion will also strengthens Egypt’s position as a logistics hub in the African continent.
