To meet the growing demand, Dow invests in methyl acrylate production in the USA. The new 50 kiloton nameplate capacity of methyl acrylate, set to be online in the first half of 2022, will be produced at St. Charles Operations in Louisiana, USA.
- The investment will help Dows efforts to improve reliability and access to raw materials through larger, centralized capacity.
- Once the capacity increase comes online, St. Charles Operations will primarily focus on the production of methyl acrylate and 2-ethyl-hexyl acrylate.

March 2021: In order to accelerate business in Asia, Dow signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Zhanjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone Administrative Committee (Zhanjiang EDZ) to build the Dow South China Specialties Hub. Dec 2020: Dow and Packaging Industries Limited (PIL) announce Mama Silage Bags a breakthrough silage storage technology for small-scale dairy farmers in Kenya. The Mama Silage innovative bags are designed to help improve silage storage and reduce waste. By enabling Kenyan farmers to better preserve animal feed for dairy cows, it helps to provide a steady supply of milk and, consequently, a steady income for farmers throughout the year.
Oct 2020: Dow announced that the INNATE TF Polyethylene Resins for Tenter Frame Biaxial Orientation (TF-BOPE) had been chosen by Liby, a leading laundry brand in China, for its packaging used to contain laundry pods. The first batch of the fully recyclable packaging is now available on its e-commerce flagship stores, Tmall.com. This collaboration further advances Dows new sustainability target to have 100 percent of its packaging applications to be reusable or recyclable by 2035.
