DuPont, a Michigan based company, has exercised its option to acquire full ownership of Ireland based company OxyMem Limited. Before this transaction, DuPont owned 31% of the OxyMem, and now it has acquires all outstanding shares of OxyMem for controlling ownership. OxyMem develops and produces Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor (MABR) technology for the treatment and purification of industrial wastewater.
The MABR technology developer OxyMem was founded in 2013 in Ireland. The company has around 60 employees and one production plant in Athlone, Ireland. The company is using patented know-how for hollow fiber, silicone polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) membranes to treat wastewater.
DuPont is a world leader in water purification and separation technology; it includes ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, and ion exchange resins. The FilmTec brand of the company is recognized globally for its consistent performance and reliability.
MABR is a new technology that offers unique and differentiated performance for secondary wastewater treatment over existing technologies, said HP Nanda, Global Vice President and General Manager, DuPont Water Solutions.
Wastewater is a fast-growing global market driven by industrial expansion, challenging water conditions, and tightening regulations. Together with the MEMCOR MBR product DuPont is acquiring, this additional emerging technology provides more solutions for customers looking to reduce footprint and energy requirements for secondary wastewater treatment and enhances the performance of systems using other traditional water purification, reuse, and recovery technologies.
- December 2019: DuPont, a global innovation leader, has signed an agreement to acquire a closed circuit reverse osmosis (CCRO) company Desalitech Ltd. DuPont is a world leader in water purification and separation technology, including ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, and ion exchange resins. The acquisition of Desalitech supports Dupont’s strategy to drive growth and innovation through access to new manufacturing capabilities, geographies, and technologies.
October 2019: DuPont has acquired the Memcor business from Evoqua Water Technologies. The acquisition also includes ultrafiltration and membrane biofiltration technologies. The transaction expected to close by the end of 2019.
- September 2019: DuPont Electronics & Imaging (E&I) divests it’s Compound Semiconductor Solutions (CSS) business to South Korea based SK Siltron, a leading silicon wafer supplier to the semiconductor industry.
- September 2019: DuPont Safety & Construction announced that it had signed an agreement to acquire the Ultrafiltration Membrane business from BASF. The deal expected to close by the end of 2019.
- July 15, 2019: DuPont has opened a new state-of-the-art probiotics fermentation unit at its Rochester, New York, facility. For the new probiotics fermentation unit, the company has invested around $100million. The New York facility is now producing high-quality probiotics for the dietary supplement and food and beverage industries.
