In order to boost high-performance automotive adhesives, DuPont Mobility & Materials invests around $5 million in capital and operating resources at its manufacturing facilities in Germany and Switzerland.

  • The investment will expand capacity to support growing demand for advanced mobility solutions for vehicle electrification.
  • New equipment has been delivered and installed to increase manufacturing capacity as well as accelerate delivery of product samples to customers.
  • DuPont Mobility & Materials business has manufacturing operations and R&D capabilities globally in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

The prominent deals and partnerships by DuPont are mentioned below:

April 2021: In order to boost production of adhesives in China, DuPont is investing more than $30 million to build a new manufacturing facility in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province in East China. The new facility is expected to be operational by early 2023.

March 2021: In order to expand in protective & electromagnetic market, DuPont announced to acquire Laird Performance Materials from Advent International for approximately USD 2.3 billion. Laird Performance Materials is a world leader in high-performance electromagnetic shielding and thermal management.

Feb 2021: For military and law enforcement personnel, DuPont has acquired Core Matrix Technology from Tex Tech. The acquisition of this globally-patented and unique Core Matrix Technology adds to the DuPont’s robust portfolio of life protection solutions, enabling the most flexible & lightweight ballistic solutions.

Feb 2021: To expand presence in bio technology sector DuPont has completed the merger of IFF and Nutrition & Biosciences. For this merger deal with IFF, DuPont receives a special cash payment of about $7.3 billion.

Dec 2020: DuPont’s bio-based company DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences announced an exclusive partnership with global chemicals company Kemira to develop and commercialize DuPont’s enzymatic polymerization-based polysaccharide platform technology for certain applications.

June 2020: Latin Americas leading renewable energy company Atlas Renewable Energy in partnership with Dow a material science company announced the signing of a large-scale solar energy contract in Brazil. The project is expected to supply over 440GWh per year that will mostly be used to serve Dow under a 15-year duration contract.

May 2020: Indiana based Cummins Inc in partnership with DuPont helping the nation’s shortage of N95 respirator masks. Cummins’ NanoNet and NanoForce Media technology, which uses DuPont’s Hybrid Membrane Technology (HMT), can typically be found in air, fuel and lube filtration products used in heavy-duty diesel engines to prevent long-term engine wear, but also can be used in the N95 respirator masks worn by healthcare professionals.

February 2020: South Korea based SK Siltron, announced that it has completed the acquisition of DuPont’s Silicon Carbide Wafer (SiC Wafer) unit for $450 million. SK Siltron with this acquisition is expected to increase SiC wafers’ production and create additional jobs in the U.S. The primary site for the business is in Auburn, Michigan, about 120 miles north of Detroit.

November 2019, DuPont Electronics & Imaging (E&I) sold its Compound Semiconductor Solutions (CSS) business to SK Siltron, a South Korea-based silicon wafer supplier to the semiconductor market.

June 2019, SK Lubricants signed a supply contract with China’s largest oil and gas producer, PetroChina for the supply of premium base oil product YUBASE Plus, which significantly improves low-temperature performance and volatility compared to other products.
