To accelerate development of sustainable energy, Enel Green Power España (EGPE) has acquired eleven photovoltaic projects of 519 MW from Spain based Arena Power. The solar projects developed in the province of Huelva, Spain.

  • Construction is expected to begin in 2022 and operations in 2024.
    • The projects creating 100 jobs during the construction period.
  • The eleven projects forming this cluster are on six sites in the province of Huelva: Palma del Condado, Gibraleón, Trigueros, San Juan del Puerto, Beas and Niebla.

The prominent deals and partnership by Enel Green Power are featured below:

March 2021: Enel Green Power España (EGPE), had started the construction of four solar power plants in Andalusia and Extremadura this week that will involve a joint investment of 125 million euros. The works will employ about 1,200 people during peak activity, mostly local labour, one of the measures of EGPE’s Shared Value Creation plan in the construction of all its plants. The three facilities, which will have about 445,000 panels, will have a combined power of more than 180 MW.

Feb 2021: To accelerate sustainable energy in Brazil, the Enel Group’s Brazilian subsidiary Enel Green Power Brasil Participações Ltda. (“”EGPB””) has started commercial operations of the 133 MW expansion of the already up and running 475 MW São Gonçalo solar PV plant.

Jan 2021: Enel Green Power S.p.A. (“EGP”), signed an agreement with a subsidiary of Qatar Investment Authority (“QIA”) for a joint venture partnership aimed at financing, building and operating renewable projects in Sub-Saharan Africa. The parties also signed an agreement whereby QIA will acquire 50% of EGP’s stake in projects in operation and under construction in South Africa and Zambia with approximately 800 MW capacity.

July 2020: Enel Green Power (EGP), through its Indian subsidiary EGP India, had been awarded the right to sign a 25-year energy supply contract for a 420 MW solar project in India. For this project the company will invest approximately 180 million US dollars in India.

May 2020: Enel, announced that its US renewable subsidiary Enel Green Power North America, had begun operating a 50 MW expansion of the High Lonesome wind farm in Upton and Crockett Counties, in Texas.
