The leading telecom solution provider Ericsson has announced the completion of acquisition of the US-based Cradlepoint, a market leader in Wireless WAN Edge 4G and 5G solutions for the enterprise market.
- Cradlepoint will operate as a stand-alone subsidiary within Ericsson and continue to build on the current market momentum as 5G is speeding up digital transformation and increasing the need for advanced connectivity services for enterprises.
- Cradlepoint will be part of Ericsson’s Business Area Technologies & New Businesses.
Through Cradlepoint’s solutions, companies can connect sites, vehicles, mobile workforces, and IoT devices in a simple and secure way using cellular technology.

July 2020: Bonn based telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom chooses Ericsson for 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) deployment. As per partnership agreement several mobile sites will be upgraded to 5G technology standard over the next few years using Ericsson Radio System products and solutions.
March 2020: Ericsson has signed an agreement to acquire Barcelona based Genaker, a provider of Mission Critical Push-to-talk (MC-PTT) solutions.
Genaker was founded in 2004 and employs about 30 people, all of whom will transfer to Ericsson after completion of deal.
January 2020: Ericsson in collaboration with VodafoneZiggo unveil 5G Hub in the Netherlands. The new 5G Hub located in High Tech Campus Eindhovens building features a testing laboratory, training facilities, and a demo studio with 5G and IoT capabilities.
December 2019: Ericsson collaborated with Microsoft to bring connected vehicle expertise together. Ericsson is building its Connected Vehicle Cloud on top of the Microsoft Connected Vehicle Platform that is running on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
