In order to build next-gen smart home appliances GE Appliances announced a multi-year partnership with Google Cloud. The partnership will build innovative technologies to elevate the consumer experience in the kitchen and in homes.
- As the company continues to reinvent itself and the appliance business, GEA turned to Google Cloud for its world-class expertise in data, analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML).
- The agreement will accelerate this evolutionand will integrate these capabilities into its entire appliance development process, from ideation to the production line.
- The two companies will work together to develop the next generation of smart appliances with Google Cloud Vision AI. And GEA will benefit from Google Cloud’s seamless integration with other Google platforms and technologies such as Android and Google Assistant.

July 2020: Haiers appliance manufacturing company GE Appliances (GEA) announced a $62mn investment to expand production at its massive, 750-acre manufacturing complex in Louisville, the USA. The expansion will create 260 new jobs as each of the three major manufacturing plants at Appliance Park.
February 2020: GE Appliances (GEA), a Haier company, has announced the completion of its $125 million investment at its refrigeration plant in Decatur, Alabama, the USA. The fresh investment boosted production capacity by 25% and making the plant a super site for GE Appliances top-freezer refrigeration production. The expansion of Decatur facility created 255 new job opportunities, bringing total employment to 1,300 at whole plant.
September 2019: GE Appliances, announced investment of $60 million to build a Manufacturing Center of Excellence for the production of water heaters at its Camden, South Carolina plant. Water heater production facility strengthens the company capacity for future growth. The new manufacturing line is targeted to start production in the fourth quarter of 2020.
June 2019: GE Appliances (GEA), announced three significant investments of total $130 million and job growth initiatives in Georgia that will significantly expand the companys operations in the state. The company has invested $43 million at Roper Corporation facility in Walker County, creating 100 new jobs; a $32 million investment to build a new Southern Logistics Center in Murray County that will create 100 new jobs, and in Jackson County, a new $55 million smart warehouse creating 100 new jobs.
April 2019: GE Appliances, has been selected as the exclusive appliance partner of Perry Homes, a leading U.S. residential homebuilder in Texas. GE Appliances will furnish Perry Homes new construction homes and model homes with Monogram, CAFÉ, Profile and GE brands.
