The leading tools and equipment manufacture GE entered into a new contract with Vietnamese state-owned power utility Power Generation Joint Stock Corporation 3 (EVN GENCO 3) to continue to supply parts and services for its Phu My 2.1 and 4 Power Plants.
- The two plants are located in the 3,900-megawatt (MW) Phu My Power Generation Center in the southern part of the country and provide approximately 10% of the countrys energy needs.
- The five year service agreement includes the provision of new and reconditioning parts, and on-site services for four GE GT13E2 gas turbines and STF-D200 combined cycle steam turbine units.
In July 2020: The power plants and power equipment manufacturer GE Power India Limited (GEPIL) a legal entity of GE Steam Power business in India, has been awarded three contracts for a combined value of $112.57 million to supply its best-in-class air quality control systems (AQCS) solutions in the country.
In July 2020, Statkraft, Europes largest generator of renewable energy, has agreed a deal to help further decarbonize the UKs power sector and deliver a new approach to managing the stability of the grid. Statkraft UK will install GEs Rotating Stabiliser technology at its stability project at Keith in the northeast of Scotland.

GEs Power Conversion business (NYSE:GE) was the designer and provider for the high-voltage system (HV), propulsion drive trains consisting of multiphase converters and Advanced Induction Motors (AIM) for the DDG 1000 class of futuristic destroyers.
In May 2020: The global smart technology firm GE has signed a definitive agreement to sell its Lighting business to Massachusetts-based Savant Systems, Inc., an industry leader in the professional smart home space. GE Lightings portfolio includes leading home lighting and innovative smart home solutions. GE Lighting will remain headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, and its more than 700 employees will transfer to Savant upon completion of the transaction.
