The global fragrance leader Givaudan announced the opening of its newest state-of-the-art fragrance production facility in Changzhou, China. The production facility is constructed on a land area of 76,000 square metres.

  • In line with the recently announced 2025 strategy – Committed to Growth, with Purpose – China remains a key growth market for innovative and consumer-preferred fragranced products
  • The new facility equipped with the most advanced auto-dosing system allowing for high accuracy and efficiency and an agile manufacturing environment.

The prominent deals and expansions by Givaudan are featured below:

August 2020: Givaudan has completed the acquisition of biotechnology company Alderys. The acquisition of Alderys will expand Givaudan’s capabilities in bio-engineering technologies.

April 2020, In response to the growing demand for hand sanitizer to limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), Givaudan, the global leader in flavours and fragrances, has set up a dedicated production line in Switzerland (Vernier site), and will be donating over 60 tonnes (equivalent to 700,000 bottles) over the next two weeks.

February 2020, Givaudan, announced that it had completed the acquisition of Ungerer & Company, the US based Flavour, Fragrance and Specialty Ingredients company. Givaudan had announced that it had reached an agreement to acquire the company in November 2019.

November 2019, Givaudan, officially inaugurated a new extension to its Nantong manufacturing facility aimed to support the capacity on liquid flavour production for beverages, dairy and sweet goods. This move will double the Company’s flavour production capacity in China.
