Honeywell, a global technology leader, announced the establishment of a new manufacturing line capable of producing up to 4.5 million FFP2 disposable masks per month and FFP3 at its Scottish production site in the United Kingdom. The new manufacturing line is expected to create more than 450 jobs at the Honeywell site in Newhouse.
The British government has ordered 70 million Honeywell SuperOne masks.
These masks will help the British government respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic.
The masks will be distributed by the Department of Health and Welfare to the National Health Service and to health and social services to protect workers on the front line.
In April 2020, Honeywell announced that it is temporarily shifting anufacturing operations at two chemical manufacturing facilities to produce and donate hand sanitizer to government agencies in response to shortages created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
