To expand snack’s portfolio Hormel Foods Corporation announced to acquire the Planters snack nut portfolio from the Kraft Heinz Company for approximately US$3.35 billion. The deal includes three dedicated production facilities located in California, Arkansas and Virginia.

  • The agreement includes the Planters, NUT-rition, Planters Cheez Balls and Corn Nuts brands.
  • The Planters brand will enhances the portfolio built for individual and social snacking occasions, and perfectly complements Hormel food’s snacking brands such as Hormel Gatherings®, Columbus®, Justin’s®, SKIPPY®, Herdez and Wholly®.
  • The acquisition also broadens the scope for future acquisitions in the snacking space.

Dec 2020: To meet customer demand Hormel Foods Corporation, announced the opening of its newest production facility, Papillion Foods, located in Papillion, Nebraska, the USA. Papillion Foods is a 535,000-square-foot facility.

March 2020: Hormel Foods Corporation, leading food processing company announced the closing of its acquisition of Sadler’s Smokehouse, a Texas-based manufacturer of premium and authentic pit-smoked meats for retail and foodservice customers.

December 2019: Hormel Foods Corporation has announced the completion of the solar energy project at the Hormel Foods Swiss American Sausage Company facility in Lathrop, California with IGS Solar. The manufacturing facility produces a variety of pepperoni and salami for foodservice pizza toppings.

July 2019: The HormelNatural Choice deli meats announced the addition of two new all-natural deli meat and cheese snacks to its growing snacking line up. The two new flavors are inspired by bold global flavors and offer consumers a delicious and convenient way to snack naturally.

April 2019: Hormel Foods Corporation announced that it has completed the sale of its CytoSport business to PepsiCo, Inc for approximately $465 million. The deal includes the Muscle Milk and Evolve brands.
