Due to increasing demand for Digital transformation, IBM announced to start the operations of its first IBM Cloud Multizone Region (MZR) in Latin America. The new MZR helps Brazilian companies to have an experience of global cloud computing environment.

  • The recently opened data center complex in Brazil marks IBM’s longstanding commitment to helping customers in the region safely deploy mission-critical workloads with high levels of resiliency in hybrid cloud environments.
  • The IBM Cloud network is designed to offer low latency and high security, while helping customers meet data sovereignty and compliance requirements.
  • By hosting workloads on the IBM Cloud – the most secure and open public cloud on the market for business – customers will also be able to use resources, delivered with IBM Hyper Protect Crypto Services and supported by the highest level of security certification available commercially.

The major partnerships and expansions by IBM are featured below:

Feb 2021: In order to provide digital and secure solution to manufacturers and plant operators, the global tech leaders Siemens, IBM and Red Hat announced a new collaboration. The partners will use a hybrid cloud designed to deliver an open, flexible and more secure solution for industrial customers to drive real-time value from operational data.

Feb 2021: For digital transformation Delta Air Lines announced a multi-year agreement with IBM. As per agreement IBM will provide technology and industry expertise to modernize and migrate Delta’s applications to the public cloud.

Nov 2020: To strengthen digital transformation for clients IBM agreed to acquire finance and analytics solutions provider TruQua Enterprises, LLC. The deal will enhance IBM’s expertise in migrating financial platforms to SAP to help businesses modernize their financial processes.

Aug 2020: Workday a leading human capital management software vendor announced an expanded partnership with IBM to help business and community leaders plan, schedule, and monitor a safe return to the workplace for employees.

Aug 2020: The world’s leading Coca-Cola bottler Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) had announced a multiyear agreement with to accelerate its transformation to an open hybrid cloud environment using Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

July 2020: The commercial real estate service provider CBRE announced a long term partnership with IBM Services to provide technology support services for its clients at select data center. With this deal CBRE offering called Smart Maintenance to its clients.

July 2020: The international computer software company Adobe announced that it forms a strategic partnership with IBM and Red Hat to accelerate digital transformation and strengthen real-time data security for enterprises.

July 2020: IBM has signed an agreement to acquire Brazilian software provider of robotic process automation (RPA) WDG Soluções Em Sistemas E Automação De Processos LTDA (WDG Automation).

June 2020: IBM had signed a definitive agreement to acquire US-based Spanugo, a provider of cloud cybersecurity posture management solutions. The deal further helps IBM to meet the security demands of its clients in highly regulated industries.

June 2020: IBM announced that IBM Services is collaborating with the Korean credit card company, Lotte Card to transform its entire enterprise system, including mission critical and core financial accounting systems, to a hybrid cloud environment. Lotte Card provides services to a wide network of retailers including department stores, hypermarkets and cinemas.

May 2020: India’s leading telecom firm Bharti Airtel had announced that IBM and Red Hat will build its new telco network cloud, designed to make it more efficient, flexible and future-ready to support core operations and enable new digital services.

February 2020: IBM had announced a strategic investment in a leading global quantum computing company Cambridge Quantum Computing (CQC). The latest investment comes after years of collaboration between CQC and IBM’s quantum computing team.

January 2020: IBM announced the opening of its Automation Innovation Center (AIC) in India at the company’s Pune facility. The AIC is a state-of-the-art facility themed around Intelligent Automation and Future of Work, with experiential demonstration centers showcasing IBM’s flagship Automation Platform, Digital Worker suite of solutions, Automation Operations Command Center for monitoring and managing bots, and co-creation zone for quick Design Thinking with visiting clients. The new AIC also showcases industry vertical solutions for Banking, Telco, Insurance, Retail, CPG, Healthcare etc.
