The green technology leader NextChem, a subsidiary of Maire Tecnimont SpA, signed a Memorandum Of Understanding with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. for the development of industrial projects that use NextChem technologies to industrialize the circular economy in India.
- The projects will focus on recycling plastics, producing biofuels from renewable raw materials and circular fuels and chemicals from non-recyclable waste.
- IndianOil is the national integrated Indian oil company involved in the entire energy value chain (oil, natural gas as well as unconventional sources).
- As per agreement, IndianOil and NextChem will jointly explore opportunities for waste recovery using NextChem technologies for Upcycling and Waste-to-Chemicals of plastic waste.
In Oct 2020, Maire Tecnimont S.P.A. and Hera Group announce the signing of a strategic agreement between Aliplast, Hera Groups subsidiary for the collection, recycling and conversion of plastics, and NextChem, Maire Tecnimont Groups company for the development of projects and technologies for the energy transition. NextChem will provide technology and engineering, procurement and construction services to build a plant which will use proprietary innovative technology MyReplastTM for upcycling of plastic waste into high valueadded polymers.
In July 2020, NextChem and US carbon recycling company, LanzaTech sign an agreement to license the “Waste to Ethanol” process line. NextChem thereby expands its circular economy and chemical recycling technologies, adding circular ethanol technology to circular hydrogen and circular methanol production technologies (currently in the engineering phase), based on the chemical recycling of plastic and dry waste.
In June 2019, Eni and NextChem, joined to turn waste into new energy, hydrogen and methanol. The two companies had signed a partnership agreement to develop and implement a conversion technology, which uses high-temperature gasification to produce hydrogen and methanol from solid urban waste and non-recyclable plastic with minimal environmental impact.
