The global industrial gas leader Linde has signed a long-term agreement with Samsung Electronics to supply ultra-high purity industrial gases for its latest semiconductor facilities in Pyeongtaek, South Korea.

  • Linde is currently the main supplier of industrial gases to Samsung’s existing facilities in Pyeongtaek.
  • Samsung’s new facility will deploy state-of-the-art technologies to accelerate the company’s next-generation chip design and production, in order to meet the rising demand for semiconductors around the world.The major expansions and deals by Linde are featured below:

    Aug 2020: Linde has started a new air separation unit (ASU) to supply ultra-high purity industrial gases to a major electronics customer in Taiwan. The new facility is first of three nitrogen generators, and as a part of 15-year contract.

    July 2020: Linde announced that it will start construction of the world’s first hydrogen refuelling station for passenger trains in Bremervörde, Germany. The company has the largest liquid hydrogen capacity and distribution system in the world.

    July 2020: Linde has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Beijing Green Hydrogen Technology Development Co., Ltd., to jointly promote the application and development of green hydrogen in China.

    May 2020, Linde announced that it had started up a state-of-the-art syngas processing plant in Geismar, Louisiana. The new plant will supply carbon monoxide and hydrogen to a top global chemical company as well as other refining and chemical customers along Linde’s hydrogen pipeline network in Southern Louisiana, all under long-term supply agreements.

    April 2020, Linde announced that it had leveraged its extensive technology portfolio to sign a new contract with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), the largest refiner in India.

    February 2020, Linde had started up a new air separation unit (ASU) in Freeport, Texas, as part of a long-term agreement to supply MEGlobal’s new ethylene glycol (EG) plant in Oyster Creek, Texas.

    January 2020, Linde announced that it had started up a new air separation plant to supply nitrogen, high purity oxygen and argon to the 12-inch wafer product line of Shanghai Huali Microelectronics Corporation (HLMC) in Shanghai. In addition, Linde will supply hydrogen and helium to HLMC.
