A.P. Moller-Maersk for sustainable fleet announced that it had signed a contract with Denmarks Reintegrate to secure green methanol. As per contract REintegrate will produce roughly 10,000 tonnes of carbon neutral e-methanol, which the vessel will need to operate each year
With this agreement the worlds largest shipping firm gears up to operate its first carbon-neutral ship in 2023.
- With about 90% of world trade transported by sea, global shipping accounts for nearly 3% of the worlds CO2 emissions.
- Maersk needs to have a carbon-neutral fleet by 2030 to meet its target of net-zero emissions by 2050.

Aug 2021: For faster deliveries to consumers, A.P. Moller – Maersk acquires Visible Supply Chain Management (Visible SCM) for approximately USD 838 million. The U.S. based Visible SCM, is a leading B2C/E-Commerce Logistics and parcel delivery company. With this deal A.P. Moller Maersk further expands its offering across the entire supply chain.
Feb 2021: For the development of sustainable green fuel, A.P. Moller – Maersk collaborates with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP). The partner plans for the establishment of Europes largest production facility of green ammonia. The green ammonia produced at the facility can be utilized by the agricultural sector as green fertilizer and by the shipping industry as a truly sustainable green fuel.
July 2020: The worlds prominent logistic firm A.P. Moller – Maersk has reached an agreement with Bridgepoint Development Capital to acquire Sweden-based KGH Customs Services (KGH), specialist in trade and customs management services in Europe.
February 2020: A.P. Moller Maersk had agreed to acquire a US-based warehousing and distribution company Performance Team for approximately $545 million. The acquisition of Performance Team will further strengthen the Maersk capabilities as an integrated container logistics company, offering end-to-end supply chain solutions to its customers.
December 2019: Maersk announced the opening of its new logistics centre in Bac Ninh to address the needs of a high-demand North Vietnam market. The new warehouse facility offers premium Warehousing and Distribution solutions to support our customers and the significant trade growth in the region.
November 2019: Maersk extended its partnership with Syngenta by signing a new contract for fourth-party logistics (4PL) concept. A 4PL logistics provider takes third-party logistics further by managing resources, technology, infrastructure and other logistics providers serving the client to design, build and provide customised supply chain solutions.
February 2019: Maersk announced that it had agreed to acquire a New Jersey, the USA based Vandegrift Inc. to strengthen and broaden the companys service offering to customers.
