In order to expand business, Mastercard announced new partnerships with DoorDash and HelloFresh. Mastercard also expands and optimized its partnerships with Fandango, Lyft, and ShopRunner to help cardholders globally.

  • The partnership with DoorDash and HelloFresh will enhance on-demand access to the best local restaurant meals, household grocery and convenience items, and fresh meal kit delivery.
  • The expanded partnership will ensure cardholders are advantaged with savings at home or on the go when frequenting these online service providers.

The major investments and expansions by Mastercard are featured below:

March 2021: Mastercard, announced to invest $100 million in Airtel Mobile Commerce BV(AMC BV), a wholly owned subsidiary of Airtel Africa plc. After completion of the transaction Mastercard will hold a minority stake in AMC BV, and Airtel Africa continuing to hold the majority stake.

February 2020: Mastercard had announced to create 1500 jobs in the next three to five years as it significantly grows its new European Technology Hub in Dublin. One and two South County buildings will be at the heart of a new tech campus site in Leopardstown, South Dublin, Ireland as per company plans.

January 2020: Mastercard announced investment in one of Asia’s leading merchant commerce platforms Pine Labs. The new partnership will deliver a wide range of cards and real-time payments-based instalment financing at checkout- in-store and online. The partnership will enhance the growth of convenient electronic payment options for consumers across the region.

May 2019: Mastercard, announced an investment of $1 billion over the next five years in India, in addition to its earlier investment of US$1 billion between 2014-19. The investments planned for co-designing and co-development of the authentication, tokenization, cyber security, and intelligence solutions and data analytics locally.

March 2019: Mastercard and a Southeast Asia’s leading online shopping and selling platform Lazada, announced a five-year partnership to grow the eCommerce ecosystem in Southeast Asia (SEA).
