To make electric vehicles more safer, Mersen announced a multi-year alliance with Autoliv. Mersen is a global expert in electrical power and advanced materials. The Autoliv and Mersen alliance will produce disconnect devices that utilizes Autolivs proven pyrotechnical safety switch technology and Mersens fuse hybridization concepts.

Feb 2021: In order to expand in India Autoliv, Inc., plans to build a new inflator manufacturing facility in Chennai. The company has its corporate office, Engineering Centre, and Airbag facilities in Bangalore, India.
May 2020: The leading global vehicle safety system provider Autoliv, Inc is taking measures to minimize any consequences for customers and mitigate the impact on the Company. The company draws $500 million from its revolving credit facility to pay down existing short-term debt and for general corporate purposes.
November 2019: Autoliv announced the development of a new front center airbag that is designed to save lives in side-impact crash situations. The airbag will be showcased at Autoliv’s Capital Markets Day held on November 19 at its technical center in Ogden, Utah.
