For the digitalisation of wholesale and retail industries, METRO Digital will collaborate with Google Cloud and Wipro Limited. The collaboration will provide training and support services for its newly established Cloud Competence Hub. It will boost cloud adoption and drive innovation across retail sector.

The major expansions and deals by METRO are featured below:

March 2020: METRO Inc. is a leading food and pharmacy retailer has announced that it will invest around $420 million over five years in the construction of a new, automated distribution centre for fresh and frozen products in Terrebonne, Quebec , Canada. The company will also expands its dairy products distribution centre in Laval, Canada.

February 2020: METRO announced the opening of new Metro Plus in Lachine. The new 39,000 ft2 Metro Plus designed to provide customers with an optimal shopping experience and give products the importance they deserve.
December 2019: METRO announced that it is selling MissFresh to Cook it, another Montreal-based ready-to-cook meal company.

September 2019: METRO announced the modernization of its Ontario distribution network, with construction of the new, semi-automated Fresh Distribution Centre at 17 Vickers Road.
