The world leading automation leader Microsoft announced the acquisition of world-leading robotic process automation (RPA) provider Softomotive. U.K. based Softomotive has over 15 years of experience and the creator of WinAutomation.

• By bringing Softomotive’s desktop automation together with the existing Microsoft Power Automate capabilities, at uniquely affordable pricing, Microsoft is further democratizing RPA and enabling everyone to create bots to automate manual business processes

•Softomotive currently helps more than 9,000 global customers seamlessly automate business processes across legacy and modern desktop applications.

Together with Power Automate, WinAutomation will provide customers additional options for RPA desktop authoring so anyone can build a bot and automate Windows-based tasks.

The combined offering will also enable RPA connectivity to many new apps and services including SAP and traditional green-screen terminal applications.

The major partnerships and investments by Microsoft are mentioned below:

  • May 2020: Sony Corporation company Sony Semiconductor Solutions announced its partnership with Microsoft Corp to create solutions that make AI-powered smart cameras and video analytics easier to access and deploy for their mutual customers.
  • March 2020: Microsoft Corp. announced collaboration with Accenture to help entrepreneurs and start-ups that are focused on social impact and sustainability. The joint initiative will provide hands-on support and technologies to social enterprises, helping them to build scalable solutions that can lead to more tangible and lasting benefits for a greater number of people across the globe.
  • February 2020: Microsoft will invest $1.1 billion in Mexico over the next five years. The company will to develop training programs and increase the availability of cloud computing services in the country. The company will establish training labs to boost skills in the country.
  • December 2019: Microsoft Taiwan announced a global strategic partnership with Asia’s leading media technology company, KKBOX Group, to migrate the group’s subsidiary KKBOX’s music streaming services to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. As per agreement, KKStream a KKBOX Group subsidiary has joined Microsoft’s global partner network to release BlendVision, a next-generation commercial video streaming solution that will harness data and AI to effectively reduce operating costs of over-the-top (OTT) platform operators.
  • December 2019: Microsoft Corp and KPMG strengthen their global relationship through a five-year agreement to accelerate digital transformation for KPMG member firms and mutual clients. The KPMG will invest approximately $5 billion in a new digital strategy. KPMG is modernizing its workplace using the Microsoft 365 suite of cloud-based collaboration and productivity tools, including Microsoft Teams.
  • October 2019: Global technology company Microsoft has acquired Calgary based Mover, a leading provider of cloud file migration, including admin-led and self-service offerings. The acquisition of Mover will simplify and speed file migration to Microsoft 365. Mover supports migration from over a number of cloud service providers including Box, Dropbox, Egnyte, and Google Drive – into OneDrive and SharePoint.
  • July 2019: Microsoft Corp. announced a partnership with OpenAI, to further extend Microsoft Azure’s capabilities in large-scale AI systems. The two companies were thinking deeply about the role of AI in the world and how to build secure, trustworthy, and ethical AI to serve the public.
