The world’s leading automation firm Microsoft Corp. announced an extensive technology and go-to-market strategic partnership with SAS. The partnership will enable customers to easily run their SAS workloads in the cloud.

  • The agreement helps in expanding their business solutions and unlocking critical value from their digital transformation initiatives.
  • As part of the partnership, the companies will migrate SAS’ analytical products and industry solutions onto Microsoft Azure as the preferred cloud provider for the SAS Cloud.
  • SAS’ industry solutions and expertise will also bring added value to Microsoft’s customers across health care, financial services and many other industries.

The major partnerships and investments by Microsoft are mentioned below:

June 2020: Microsoft announced that its venture fund company M12, expands with the opening of an office in Bengaluru, India. The new office is a step forward in M12’s long-term commitment to the Indian startup ecosystem.

May 2020: Microsoft announced the acquisition of world-leading robotic process automation (RPA) provider Softomotive. U.K. based Softomotive has over 15 years of experience and the creator of WinAutomation.

May 2020: Sony Corporation company Sony Semiconductor Solutions announced its partnership with Microsoft Corp to create solutions that make AI-powered smart cameras and video analytics easier to access and deploy for their mutual customers.

March 2020: Microsoft Corp. announced collaboration with Accenture to help entrepreneurs and start-ups that are focused on social impact and sustainability. The joint initiative will provide hands-on support and technologies to social enterprises, helping them to build scalable solutions that can lead to more tangible and lasting benefits for a greater number of people across the globe.

February 2020: Microsoft will invest $1.1 billion in Mexico over the next five years. The company will to develop training programs and increase the availability of cloud computing services in the country. The company will establish training labs to boost skills in the country.

December 2019: Microsoft Taiwan announced a global strategic partnership with Asia’s leading media technology company, KKBOX Group, to migrate the group’s subsidiary KKBOX’s music streaming services to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. As per agreement, KKStream a KKBOX Group subsidiary has joined Microsoft’s global partner network to release BlendVision, a next-generation commercial video streaming solution that will harness data and AI to effectively reduce operating costs of over-the-top (OTT) platform operators.

December 2019: Microsoft Corp and KPMG strengthen their global relationship through a five-year agreement to accelerate digital transformation for KPMG member firms and mutual clients. The KPMG will invest approximately $5 billion in a new digital strategy. KPMG is modernizing its workplace using the Microsoft 365 suite of cloud-based collaboration and productivity tools, including Microsoft Teams.

October 2019: Microsoft had acquired Calgary based Mover, a leading provider of cloud file migration, including admin-led and self-service offerings. The acquisition of Mover will simplify and speed file migration to Microsoft 365. Mover supports migration from over a number of cloud service providers – including Box, Dropbox, Egnyte, and Google Drive – into OneDrive and SharePoint.

July 2019: Microsoft Corp. announced a partnership with OpenAI, to further extend Microsoft Azure’s capabilities in large-scale AI systems. The two companies were thinking deeply about the role of AI in the world and how to build secure, trustworthy, and ethical AI to serve the public.
