To expand the production of clean energy Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. announce a capital investment in a leading U.S. company Monolith Materials, Inc. The investment in Monolith, MHI Group looks to strengthen and diversify its hydrogen value chain.

  • Monolith Materials, Inc., with innovative technology enabling the production of hydrogen and carbon black from methane.
  • This investment advances the production and supply of hydrogen through plasma-based methane pyrolysis technology, which uses renewable energy as its heat source.
  • The investment has been executed through Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc., MHI’s base of regional operations in the U.S. Monolith Materials is the first U.S. manufacturer to produce a clean, industry-transforming hydrogen known as “turquoise hydrogen” (Note) on a commercial scale.

Oct 2020: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) signed an agreement with renewable energy leader Vestas Wind Systems A/S to expand their partnership in sustainable energy.

August 2020: Sumitomo CorporationÂ’s largest subsidiary Sumitomo Corporation of Americas (SCOA), a leading traders of goods and services , announced to increase its investment in Sintavia, LLC, based in Hollywood, Florida, the USA.

June 2020: The global industrial company Mitsubishi Heavy Industries announce that Keppel Data Centres Holding Pte Ltd and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (MHI-AP) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly explore the implementation of the hydrogen powered tri-generation plant concept for data centres in Singapore.

In June 2020, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engine & Turbocharger, Ltd. (MHIET), a part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group, has concluded an agreement under which the domestic marine engine sales and parts servicing operations currently performed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engine Systems, Ltd. (MHIES), a wholly owned subsidiary, will be transferred to Seika Corporation.

April 2020, Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Ltd. (MHPS) has received an order for steam turbine power generating equipment for the Datan Power Plant in the city of Taoyuan, Taiwan, approximately 50km west of the city of Taipei. The equipment will be used to convert the gas turbine simple cycle generators to a gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) system, enhancing its efficiency and increasing the power generating capacity around 50%, from the current output of about 600 megawatts (MW) to 900 MW.
