The global auto innovation firm MITSUBISHI MOTORS Corporation (MMC) plans to invest for production of new electric Kei-cars at Mizushima Plant in Kurashiki city, Okayama Prefecture, Japan.
- The company will expand for EV manufacturing platforms and establishing new assembly line.
- MMC is considering of developing the new electric Kei-car jointly with Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (Nissan), an Alliance partner.
- This investment will be approximately $74 million
In April 2020, To prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections, MITSUBISHI MOTORS (MMC) produces face shields to provide to medical institutions. Production of approximately 1,500 face shields per month has started at the Okazaki Plant in Aichi Prefecture and other facilities. Another production site, Pajero Manufacturing Co., Ltd. In Gifu Prefecture, also donated the produced face shields to a hospital in Minokamo City, Gifu Prefecture.
In January 2020, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), a sales and manufacturing subsidiary of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC), signed a Memorandum of Understanding with its five dealers to roll out a next-generation Showroom, DENDO DRIVE STATION, in the Philippines.
In July 2019, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation announced an investments in GOJEK, a leading on-demand multi-service platform in Southeast Asia, together with Mitsubishi Corporation. The three parties have signed a memorandum of understanding to discuss joint projects to create value from new mobility services in Southeast Asia.
