The renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel producer Neste has announced to acquire Bunge Loders Croklaan’s refinery plant located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands for approximately $306 million.
- The refinery plant is located next to Nestes existing biorefinery and it consists of a pretreatment facility, tank farm, jetties and has a pipeline connection to Nestes site.
- Neste, produces renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel produced from waste and residue raw materials
- The now acquired refinery offers further pretreatment capacity and terminal infrastructure to handle the increasingly complex waste and residue feedstocks, and supports further growth in production capacity beyond 2023.
In Sep 2020, Bunge Loders Croklaan (BLC), the specialty oils and fats business of Bunge Limited announced the opening of its state-of-the-art shea butter processing facility in Tema, Ghana with the launch of the Where Life Grows campaign that celebrates the companys efforts to build a resilient and sustainable shea supply chain in Africa.

Through certain supply agreements, Bunge will be able to access a larger and stronger origination and distribution network through Zen-Noh to better serve American farmers and global export customers.
In April 2020, Bunge announced a $2.5 million commitment to COVID-19 relief efforts. The funds supported health and hunger causes directly related to the pandemic in the communities where Bunge operates.
In December 2019, Bunge Limited announced to sell its margarine and mayonnaise assets in Brazil to Seara Alimentos S.A. The transaction includes three production plants and the brands used for these two products.
In December 2019, Bunge Limited and BP plc announced that they had completed the formation of BP Bunge Bioenergia, the Brazilian bioenergy joint venture that combines their Brazilian bioenergy and sugarcane ethanol businesses. BP Bunge Bioenergia is now the second largest operator by effective crushing capacity in the Brazilian bioethanol market.
