OLED Material Manufacturing Ltd. (OM2) in partnership with PPG announced to build new Shannon manufacturing site. The new facility will create up to 100 high-tech jobs in Shannon. OLED Material Manufacturing Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Universal Display Corporation Ireland Ltd.
- The new facility will broaden the global footprint and increase the production of Universal Display Corporations (UDC) energy-efficient, high-performing UniversalPHOLED® materials to meet growing organic light emitting diode (OLED) market demand and evolving industry requirements.

April 2021: To expand capability PPG announced that it has added SEM adhesives, sealers and undercoats to the PPG ADJUSTRITE. The repair and refinish products leader SEM products, will strengthen the commercial estimating system of the company.
Dec 2020: To expand the paint and coating business PPG agreed to acquire Nordic paint and coatings Company Tikkurila for $1.3 billion. Finland based Tikkurila has operations in 11 countries and more than 80% of its revenue coming from Finland, Sweden, Russia, Poland, and the Baltic states.
April 2020: PPG and the PPG Foundation announced to contribute more than $1.5 million to organizations supporting immediate community relief efforts and emerging recovery needs amid the impacts of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
March 2020: PPG announced that it had completed its acquisition of Alpha Coating Technologies, LLC (Alpha), a manufacturer of powder coatings for light industrial applications and heat sensitive substrates. Alpha focuses on the development, manufacture and sale of powder coatings for light industrial applications; medium density fiberboard and heat sensitive substrates; and toll manufactures powder coatings for metal and light industrial applications.
Alpha employs approximately 35 people at its operations in West Chicago, Illinois.
Feb 2020: PPG announced a collaboration with Dow and its Sustainable Future Program, developed to accelerate adoption of low-carbon technologies. The partnership focuses on advances in anti-corrosion coating products for steel designed to deliver reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through increased energy efficiency while helping to lessen the high maintenance costs of steel infrastructure.
Feb 2020: PPG announced that it had completed its acquisition of Industria Chimica Reggiana (ICR) S.p.A., a manufacturer of paints and coatings for the automotive refinish and light industrial coatings industries. Financial terms were not disclosed.
