Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras, announced the sale of E&P assets in Alagoas to the company Petromais Global Exploração e Produção S.A for $300 million. The deal includes set of seven onshore and shallow water concessions called Alagoas Cluster, located in Alagoas, Brazil.

  • The total sale price is US$ 300 million, of which: (a) US$ 60 million to be paid on the contract signing date and; (b) US$ 240 million at the closing of the transaction.
  • The amounts do not consider adjustments due until the closing of the transaction, which is subject to compliance with certain precedent conditions, such as approval by the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP).

    The major deals and agreements by Petrobras are featured below:

    March 2021: Petrobras, had signed a contract for the sale of the shares of the Landulpho Alves Refinery (RLAM) with MC Brazil Downstream Participações, a company of the Mubadala Capital group for USD 1.65 billion.

    Aug 2020: Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras, informs that it signed an agreement with SPE Rio Ventura S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of 3R Petroleum e Participações S.A., a contract for the sale of its entire interest in eight E&P onshore fields in Bhaia, Brazil.

    July 2020: Petrobras announced that its subsidiary Petrobras Biocombustível SA (PBIO) had signed a contract for the sale of its 8.40% stake in Bambuí Bioenergia SA (Bambuí) to Turdus Participações SA.

    July 2020: Petrobras signed an agreement with OP Pescada Oil e Gás Ltda., a wholly owned subsidiary of Ouro Preto Oil e Gás SA, a contract for the sale of its entire stake in the Pescada, Arabaiana and Dentão fields located in the shallow waters of the Potiguar Basin (Polo Hake), in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.

    June 2020: Petrobras had started the opportunity disclosure stage (teaser), referring to the sale of its stakes in five electricity generation companies: Brasympe Energia SA (“Brasympe”), Energética Suape II SA (“Suape II”), Termoelétrica Potiguar SA (“TEP”), Companhia Energética Manauara SA (CEM) and Brentech Energia SA (Brentech).
