The global health technology firm Royal Philips announced a collaboration with The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center to provide oncologists with evidence-based therapy and clinical trial guidance through Philips oncology informatics solutions and MD Andersons Precision Oncology Decision Support (PODS) system.
- The PODS system of MD Anderson is an evidence-based tool to facilitate therapeutic decision-making at the point of care.
- This collaboration will allow physicians around the world to personalize therapy based on the patients genomic profile, with the aim of improving patient care.
In April 2020, Royal Philips announced its plans to double the production of its hospital ventilators by May 2020 and achieve a four-fold increase by the third quarter of 2020. This plan builds on Philips initial production increase in the first three months of the year, which already enabled the supply of additional ventilators that are critical for the treatment of COVID-19 patients to hospitals in the most affected regions in China, southern Europe and the US.
In April 2020: The United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced the second contract for ventilator production, to Philips. As per contract Philips will manufacture 2,500 ventilators for the Strategic National Stockpile by the end of May 2020 and a total of 43,000 ventilators to be delivered by the end of December 2020 to fight against COVID-19.
In December 2019, Royal Philips announced a strategic 5-year partnership with Inspira Health (Inspira), to standardize patient monitoring and drive innovation in diagnostic imaging solutions in order to enhance patient care and improve clinical workflow performance. The agreement will make Philips solutions available to more than a dozen Inspira health facilities, helping the charitable non-profit fulfill its commitment to provide access to the highest quality medical services.
