For development in South East Asia, Saint-Gobain inaugurated a new chemical facility in Malaysia. The new plant will boost the production of advanced solutions for the construction market in Singapore and Malaysia.

May 2021: To increase plasterboard production, Saint-Gobain has announced an investment of approximately USD 28 million in its Fredrikstad facility in Norway. The investments will increase production capacity by about 40%.
March 2021: For strengthening business in Germany, Saint-Gobain had acquired a majority stake in Brüggemann. The acquisition of Brüggemann will enables Saint-Gobain to further strengthen its role as an innovation leader in the sustainable construction industry.
March 2021: Saint-Gobain announces the construction of a new plasterboard manufacturing line in its Quinto plant near Zaragoza, Spain. The $48 million investment will enable the company to expand its range of high value-added products and construction solutions. As the leader in gypsum and plasterboard in Spain, SaintGobain will thus be able to capture the growth of the Spanish market and its rapid shift towards more complex needs, particularly for lightweight construction systems.
Feb 2021: Saint-Gobain had completed in Spain the sale of Sanigrif, its plumbing, heating and sanitary distribution business, and the sale of Saniplast, its civil engineering materials distribution business. Sanigrif comprises 12 outlets, employs 120 people, and has annual sales of around 50 million, while Saniplast comprises 20 outlets, employs 100 people.
Dec 2020: Saint-Gobain and the El Volcan group, longstanding partners in Chile (in fiber cement, mortars, insulation and plasterboard), in Columbia (in insulation and waterproofing), and in Brazil (in plasterboard), have signed an agreement covering their operations in Peru (mortars and plasterboard) and in Argentina (plaster and plasterboard), together representing approximately $75 million in sales, 6 plants and 450 employees.
Nov 2020: Saint-Gobain entered into exclusive negotiations with Mutares, listed in Frankfurt, in preparation for the sale of Lapeyre, its subsidiary specialized in home improvements in France.
