Saputo Inc. to strengthen its position in U.K, announced to acquire the activities of Wensleydale Dairy Products Limited. Wensleydale Dairy Products manufactures, blends, markets, and distributes a variety of specialty and regional cheeses.
- After the completion of deal the business will join Saputos Dairy Division (UK) under its Europe Sector, operates two facilities located in North Yorkshire and employs approximately 210 people.

May 2021: Saputo Inc. announced two strategic acquisitions in each of the dairy alternatives and value-added ingredients segments. The Company is pleased to have completed the acquisition of Bute Island Foods Ltd., an innovative manufacturer, marketer and distributor of a variety of dairy alternative cheese products for both the retail and foodservice market segments under the award-winning vegan Sheese brand, alongside private label brands. The business is located on the Isle of Bute, off the West Coast of Scotland (United Kingdom) and employs approximately 180 people, including its founders.
Oct 2019: Saputo Inc. had acquired the specialty cheese business (the Specialty Cheese Business) of Lion Dairy & Drinks Pty Ltd. The Specialty Cheese Business is conducted at two manufacturing facilities located in Burnie and King Island, Tasmania (Australia) and employs approximately 400 people.
The Specialty Cheese Business produces, markets and distributes a variety of specialty cheeses under a wide portfolio of Australian brands, including South Cape, Tasmanian Heritage, Mersey Valley and King Island Dairy. For the twelve-month period ended on December 31, 2018, the Specialty Cheese Business generated revenues of approximately A$192 million (approximately CDN$171.1 million).
April 2019: Saputo Inc completed the acquisitions of Dairy Crest Group plc (“Dairy Crest”), a United Kingdom-based dairy company. Saputo acquired the entire issued ordinary share capital of Dairy Crest The Purchase Price, payable in cash, was financed through funds drawn on a new bank term loan facility (the “Credit Facility”).
