In order to strengthen meshless technology, Siemens has acquired Nextflow Software. Nantes, France based Nextflow Software is a startup company focused on the development of innovative SPH meshless computational fluid dynamics CFD solutions.

  • Nextflow Software will become part of Siemens Digital Industries Software, where its offering will expand the Simcenter™ software portfolio, part of the Siemens’ Xcelerator™ portfolio of software and services, with rapid meshless CFD capabilities.
  • CFD would accelerate the analysis of complex transient applications in the automotive, aerospace, and marine industries such as gear box lubrication, tank sloshing or electric motor spray cooling.

The major deals and investments by Siemens are mentioned below:

May 2021: in order to accelerates digital marketplace strategy, Siemens had signed an agreement to acquire Supplyframe for approximately USD 700 million. The California based Supplyframe has created a strong Design-to-Source Intelligence (DSI) ecosystem for the global electronics value chain.

May 2021: In order to boost intermodal transportation portfolio Siemens Mobility had acquired Padam Mobility. Paris, France based Padam Mobility, a technology company that provides AI-powered platforms and applications for on-demand and paratransit services.

May 2021: In order to provide reliable and efficient power supply in Iraq, Siemens Energy signed a contract with the Ministry of Electricity of the Republic of Iraq. Siemens to construct Iraq’s West Mosul 400-kilovolt (kV) super grid station to strengthen Iraq’s national grid.

April 2021: To boost digital transformation Siemens Digital Industries Software had signed an agreement to acquire a leading Independent Software Vendor (ISV) and Mendix partner TimeSeries. After completion of deal TimeSeries will expand capabilities that can help enterprises and ISVs everywhere accelerate their digitalization efforts using the Mendix platform.

April 2021: In order to boost IC verification portfolio, Siemens Digital Industries Software had signed an agreement with London-based Azini Capital to acquire OneSpin Solutions. Siemens to add OneSpin Solutions technology to the Xcelerator portfolio as part of its industry-leading suite of electronic design automation (EDA) IC verification offerings.

Feb 2021: In order to provide digital and secure solution to manufacturers and plant operators, the global tech leaders Siemens, IBM and Red Hat announced a new collaboration. The partners will use a hybrid cloud designed to deliver an open, flexible and more secure solution for industrial customers to drive real-time value from operational data.

July 2020: Siemens announced to acquire California-based Avatar Integrated Systems Inc., a leading developer of place and route software for integrated circuit (IC) design.

June 2020: Siemens had announced that it signed an agreement to acquire Cambridge, UK-based UltraSoC Technologies Ltd., a provider of instrumentation and analytics solutions.

March 2020: The global clean energy provider Siemens Gamesa announced that it will supply 25 SG 4.5-145 wind turbines for one of the Vietnam’s largest wind farms. Vietnam has one of the best wind resources in Southeast Asian region.

February 2020: Siemens AG announced to acquire all the shares of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) held by Iberdrola S.A. for approximately $1.2 billion. The three companies (Iberdrola, Siemens, and SGRE) have signed a cooperation agreement for specific projects related to wind power generation and to improve the distribution grid.

January 2020: Siemens AG signed an agreement to acquire India based C&S Electric Limited for $296 million, through its Indian subsidiary. C&S Electric is one of the leaders in electrical and electronic equipment for infrastructure, power generation, transmission and distribution in India. The acquisition of C&S Electric will enhance Siemens’ position in India as a key supplier of low-voltage power distribution and electrical installation technology. The merger agreement paves the way for the establishment of a design and manufacturing hub in India by Siemens. The acquisition will also help in the export of electrification products to fast-developing markets around the world.

January 2020: Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy completed the acquisition of Senvion’s European Service assets and Intellectual Property (IP). The deal strengthen the company’s competitive position in Europe by adding approximately 9.0 GW serviced fleet and operations in 13 countries.

January 2020: Siemens AG signed an agreement with Ghana Grid Co. to upgrade the country’s electricity grid. Siemens will help to improve the Ghana’s ability to supply other West African nations, including Burkina Faso, Togo, and Benin.
