To expand in robotics space, SoftBank has announced to acquire 40% of AutoStore in approximarely USD 2.8 billion deal. Nedre Vats, Norway based AutoStore, is a robotics technology company that invented and continues to pioneer Cube Storage Automation, the densest storage technology.
- THL will continue to be AutoStore’s majority shareholder
- AutoStore currently has more than 600 installations and 20,000 robots across 35 countries.

Sep 2020: SoftBank Group Corp. (SBG) and technology firm NVIDIA announced a definitive agreement under which NVIDIA will acquire Arm Limited from SBG and the SoftBank Vision Fund for approximately $40 billion.
Even after deal SoftBank will remain committed to Arms long-term success through its ownership stake in NVIDIA, expected to be under 10 percent.

July 2019: SoftBank Corp with Didi Chuxing established a joint venture DiDi Mobility Japan Corp. to offer next-generation taxi-hailing services in Japan. The new joint venture deploys DiDi’s world’s most advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytic technologies on its open taxi platform. DiDi Japan will begin pilot operations free of service charge to taxi companies in autumn from Osaka, expanding to Okinawa, Kyoto, Fukuoka, Tokyo and other major cities gradually.
April 2019: SoftBank Corp. and SoftBank Vision Fund announced a joint venture with OYO Hotels & Homes, the world’s 6th largest hotel chain that operates hotels, homes & living spaces. OYO commence its hotel operations in Japan, through newly formed joint venture OYO Hotels Japan G.K.
