The leading chemical company Solvay announced to sell its technical-grade barium and strontium business in Germany, Spain and Mexico as well as its sodium percarbonate business in Germany to Latour Capital.
- Solvays barium and strontium business includes a joint venture with Chemical Products Corporation (CPC), which is part of the transaction.
- Solvay’s Germany-based sodium percarbonate business was deemed essential during this unprecedented sanitary crisis and is very resilient .
June 2020: Solvay announced that its subsidery Solvay Peroxides Vietnam has started production at its new Hydrogen Peroxide dilution and packing plant at Phuc Long Industrial Zone in Long An Province, Vietnam.

February 2020: Solvay and PDI Healthcare collaborate on disinfectant resistance testing of specialty polymers. In collaboration with Solvay, PDI Healthcare conducted performance and cosmetic tests on multiple Solvay high-performance specialty polymers. Several PDI disinfectants, including Sani-24®, Sani-HyPerCide, Sani-Prime®, and Super Sani-Cloth®, were used to test Solvays Specialty Polymers.
