Solvay, the leading chemical company has completed the acquisition of Bayer’s global coatings business. The transaction includes facilities in Méréville, France, and tolling operations in the U.S. and Brazil.

  • The film coaters developed at the Méréville site are exported and used in 35 countries all over the world.
  • The business is recognized globally for seed coating and seed enhancement products such as Peridiam, fluency powders, Certop, Pro-Ized Pigment, and Talkum, and its research and development capabilities for on-seed formulations.
  • The Méréville facility’s entire product portfolio, R&D projects and the business line’s international tolling operations are now fully transferred to Solvay.

Nov 2020: The leading chemical company Solvay announced to sell its technical-grade barium and strontium business in Germany, Spain and Mexico as well as its sodium percarbonate business in Germany to Latour Capital.

June 2020: The world’s leading chemical company Solvay announced that its subsidery Solvay Peroxides Vietnam had started production at its new Hydrogen Peroxide dilution and packing plant at Phuc Long Industrial Zone in Long An Province, Vietnam.

May 2020: The leading specialty chemicals company Solvay, announced that its Peroxides unit had donated hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to more than 200 hospitals, pharmacies and companies in Belgium. The company also help them to produce more than 150,000 liters of hand sanitizer.

April 2020: In response to urgent needs by medical professionals for protective equipment to combat COVID-19, Solvay is supplying high-performance, medical-grade transparent film to Boeing for its production of face shields.

February 2020: Solvay and PDI Healthcare collaborated on disinfectant resistance testing of specialty polymers. In collaboration with Solvay, PDI Healthcare conducted performance and cosmetic tests on multiple Solvay high-performance specialty polymers. Several PDI disinfectants, including Sani-24®, Sani-HyPerCide™, Sani-Prime®, and Super Sani-Cloth®, were used to test Solvay’s Specialty Polymers.
