Japan’s one of the largest Sogo shosha Sumitomo Corporation, announced that Sumitomo Corporation of Americas (SCOA) would be investing in Origin WirelessTM, a developer of advanced wireless sensing technologies for various “Smart Life” applications. The investment by SCOA will help Origin Wireless accelerate its integration with 5G mobile, enhancing the company’s solutions portfolio.
Maryland based Origin technology transforms Wi-Fi devices into Wi-Fi sensors. The company provides solutions for three core product lines: Origin Home, Origin Health, and Origin Tracking. Their applications target smart homes, cars, buildings and factories, with use-cases in security monitoring, asset/people tracking, and elderly well-being monitoring.

December 2019: Sumitomo Corporation has acquired Collier Center, an office building in Phoenix, Arizona (US), through Sumitomo Corporation of Americas. The Collier Center building has a total leasable floor area of 53,725 m2, and is situated in the center of Phoenix’s downtown district.
